Colin Jost
1982
A Very Punchable Face, published by Crown in July 2020, traces Colin Jost's route from a Staten Island childhood to the writers' room at Saturday Night Live, where he arrived in 2005 aged twenty-two. He was co-head writer from 2012 to 2015 and again from 2017 to 2022, and has anchored Weekend Update since March 2014, alongside Michael Che for most of that stretch. Born on 29 June 1982, he attended Regis High School in Manhattan and then Harvard, where he read history and literature and presided over the Harvard Lampoon. His father Daniel taught at Staten Island Technical High School and his mother, Kerry Kelly, was chief medical officer of the New York City fire department, which is what gives the book's account of 11 September 2001 its weight. He has won two Primetime Emmys from nineteen nominations, and married Scarlett Johansson in October 2020.
