📚 1 Book ✍️ Coming of Age 📄 PDF & EPUB

For years Rachael Herron took emergency calls as a fire and medical dispatcher for a Bay Area department, and she has said that job fed directly into Pack Up the Moon, published in March 2014. The novel follows Kate Monroe, an artist rebuilding her life three years after losing her son, who is unsettled all over again when the daughter she gave up for adoption twenty-two years earlier introduces herself. Herron took an MFA in writing at Mills College in Oakland and has taught workshops at UC Berkeley and Stanford. Her other fiction includes the Cypress Hollow Yarn books, among them How to Knit a Love Song and Wishes and Stitches, plus The Darling Songbirds. A Life in Stitches, her 2011 memoir for Chronicle Books, gathers twenty essays built around knitting, from a first disastrous sweater onwards. She holds American and New Zealand citizenship, having taken the second in 2013.
