Rachel Marks brings family relationships, emotional strain, and the possibility of change together in her fiction. Saturdays At Noon, her debut novel, was published by Penguin in 2020 and brings together two people attending an anger-management group and a six-year-old boy who alters how they understand one another. Penguin presents the book as compassionate, hopeful, and concerned with second chances. Before publishing fiction, Marks studied English at Exeter University, then became a primary-school teacher. A place on the 2016 Curtis Brown Creative online novel-writing course helped turn her long-standing interest in writing into a career. Her later novels include Until Next Weekend and Hello, Stranger.
