Roni Loren holds an MSW from Louisiana State University, and it shows most plainly in Yes & I Love You. Hollyn Tate, its narrator, reviews New Orleans nightlife anonymously as Miz Poppy because Tourette syndrome and social anxiety make her dread being recognised; an improv actor called Jasper Deares works out who she is. Loren worked in a mental health hospital and counselled birth mothers as an adoption coordinator before fiction became the job. She has twice won the RITA Award, one of them for Nice Girls Don't Ride, and writes from Dallas.
