Samantha Cohoe

A Latin teacher based in Denver, Samantha Cohoe published her debut, A Golden Fury, with Wednesday Books in October 2020: young adult historical fantasy set in 1792 and moving between France and England. Thea Hope, trained in alchemy by her mother, is sent to Oxford after her mother completes the Philosopher's Stone and then destroys it in a fit of madness. There she meets her father and finds rival alchemists chasing the same work under a curse that unhinges anyone who gets close. Cohoe grew up in San Luis Obispo, California, and read liberal arts at Thomas Aquinas College. Her second book, Bright Ruined Things, reworks Shakespeare's The Tempest.
