Covey played quarterback at Brigham Young University before going into his father's business, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens took Stephen R. Covey's framework and rewrote it for readers young enough to find the original unreadable. It sells in the millions and is taught in schools. The 7 Habits of Happy Kids does the same again for younger children, through animal stories set in a place called Seven Oaks. With Chris McChesney and Jim Huling he wrote a management book about the gap between deciding a strategy and actually delivering one, which became his firm's main corporate offering. He runs the education division at FranklinCovey.
