Timothy Corrigan

Corrigan taught cinema studies at Penn and wrote, with Patricia White, The Film Experience, the introductory textbook a great many American undergraduates meet first. A Short Guide to Writing About Film is the other one, and it is about the writing rather than about the films; The Film Experience is now past a sixth edition. His own research covers the essay film, Godard, and New German Cinema, and he edited a critical volume on the essay as a form for the screen.
