High Risk originally opened the Adrenaline Search and Rescue sequence and was later presented as High Risk: Pursuit. The story introduces an elite Banff-based rescue organization called Lifeline, placing professional responsibility and personal history inside the physical demands of mountain work. High Passion and High Seduction continued the original sequence, while later renamed editions organize the books as Pursuit, Rescue, and Gambit.
