About this book
The book is titled A Master's Degree and names Margaret Hill McCarter as its author. The dedication is to the Kansas boys and girls who have not yet earned their degrees. The contents list, among others, gives the chapter titles "The Kickapoo Corral", "The Storm" and "The Game".
A passage describes Dean Fenneben, who came after six years of service to the little town of Lagonda Ledge to plant Sunrise on the crest above the Walnut Valley. In a scene in a glen, Elinor and Victor talk about the loss of time, and Victor answers "I counted it gain to be here with you, even in the storm and terror." A passage says that somebody remembered that Bond Saxon had crossed the bridge and plunged into the overflow of the river around the west end.
