The title page names A Svmmarie and Trve Discovrse of Sir Frances Drakes VVest Indian Voyage and says that the Townes of Saint Iago, Sancto Domingo, Cartagena, and Saint Augustine were taken. The account says a worthy knight, having prepared his whole fleet, brought it down to Plimmouth in Deuonshire to the number of fiue and twentie saile of ships and pinnaces. The account says souldiours and marriners to the number of two thousand and three hundred in the whole were embarqued at Plimmouth aforesaid, the twelfth day of September 1585.

A speaker says that, wearied with firing and hastened by some other respects, they were contented to accept fiue and twentie thousand Duckets, of fiue shillings sixe pence the peece, for the ransome of the rest of the towne. The account says they departed from that coast the eighteenth of Iune and, God be thanked, both they and we arriued in good safetie at Portesmouth the eight and twentieth of Iuly 1586.
