About this book
The treatise describes servants, apprentices, journeymen, labourers and domestics as being led astray by temptations to spend money in the metropolis and by numerous receivers of stolen goods. The receivers are described as supplying money whenever people can furnish them with an article of their stolen plunder.
The discussion of the Poor Laws says that accurate revision requires people who understand the subject in practice and theory and can devote time to necessary investigations. The text says that the complexity of the measure prevents men without opportunities or leisure from adjusting its many ramifications. A meeting resolution requests that Lord Penrhyn present a committee report on the Marine Police Institution to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
