A Wizard of Earthsea

A Wizard of Earthsea is Ursula K Le Guin’s classic fantasy novel, the first of the Earthsea cycle. Ged, a young magic user on a small island, attracts the attention of the wizard Ogion and is sent away to study, where his pride and his curiosity lead him into a confrontation with something he should never have summoned.

The book is short, deeply moral, and unlike almost any other fantasy of its time. Read it before any other entry in the series.
