About this book
Sepharial, editor of "Moore's" and "Old Moore's" Almanacs, gives this book the subtitle "How to Make and Read Your Own Horoscope", and it is illustrated. The preface to the revised and enlarged edition calls it a small manual of practical astrology for the first use of students, says two editions had run out, and says it is offered at a price within the means of all.
In the pages sampled, the author argues that astrology belongs among the sciences because it deals with the observed positions and motions of the heavenly bodies, and he names Kepler, Tycho Brahe and Newton among those who took an interest in it. Another passage covers the seventh house and the partner it indicates, with the planets and aspects that bear on marriage, naming Mars and Saturn.
