Baron Bruno

In the prosperous kingdom of Rumpel Stiltzein, a sharp-tongued prime minister spends his nights studying the stars from a rooftop observatory. Baron Bruno values their company, yet begins to long for human affection. When Alcyone arrives from the heavens, she offers him love under conditions that make trust essential. Louisa Morgan brings questions of belief, companionship and promises into the setting of a fairy tale.

The collection also includes stories of a young sculptor, an enchanter and other figures caught between ordinary needs and extraordinary possibilities. In one episode, Fidunia and her protective dog Fido reach a village without money for lodging, where a kindly blacksmith offers help. Courtly settings sit alongside village inns and workshops, giving these stories a mixture of wonder and practical concerns. Readers interested in older children’s tales will find moral choices expressed through magical encounters and acts of generosity.
