About this book
Birds from Coahuila, Mexico is a work by Emil K. Urban. A section called Topography and Climate says Coahuila lies in the broad northern end of México, immediately east of the center of the continental mass. The text says the mountains of Coahuila, which are part of the Rocky Mountain-Sierra Madre Oriental Axis, extend in a north-south direction and divide the lower lands into two areas.
The text says most of the mountains of Coahuila do not exceed 6000 feet in elevation, and that most of Coahuila is arid. The text records that Amadon and Phillips reported a nest of Auriparus flaviceps at Las Delicias. The text records that Findley saw a Verdin 2 mi. S and 3 mi. E San Juan de Sabinas on June 22, 1952. The entry for Zonotrichia leucophrys gambelii (Nuttall) gives one specimen examined, from Sierra de la Encantada.
