About this book

Books and Bidders, with the words The Adventures of a Bibliophile, is by A. S. W. Rosenbach and comes with illustrations. The writer says that upon the title page of a quaint little English travel book there was a presentation address to Gabriel Harvey, the poet's dearest friend. The text quotes an inscription reading "The gift of Edmund Spenser, clerk to the Archbishop of Rochester, 1578."

An index lists, among others, two entries for William Bradford, one marked Governor and one marked printer, and an entry for Brawne, Fanny, letter of Keats to. The writer says that a French journalist came to see the writer one day at the Carlton Hotel in London, with the news that he knew the man who owned the Salomé manuscript. A caption names a page from the original manuscript of Oscar Wilde's Salomé.
