The text says that on a blisteringly hot but guaranteed weather-controlled future summer day in the Mississippi Valley, the walking mills of Puffy Products began to tread delicately on their centipede legs across the wheat fields of Kansas. Loaves from the first walking mill to get into action are described rising gently into the air and traveling off down-wind across the hot rippling fields.

Roger Snedden says All right, I did it, but it was the only way out, and that he diverted the necessary quantity of hydrogen gas from the Hydrogenated Oils Section of our Magna-Margarine Division and substituted it for the helium. Roger cries that they will tether them on strings and sell them like balloons, and that buying bread balloons will be the big event of the day for kiddies.
