About the author

Edward Anwyl

Edward Anwyl was a Welsh scholar of Celtic languages, religion, and comparative philology whose teaching helped establish Welsh studies within modern university life. Born in 1866, he studied at Oxford and later became principal of the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth.
