About this book
Chronicles of London Bridge records historical events for which the preface offers explicitly cited authorities as proofs of accuracy. The dedication names John Garratt as the Lord Mayor of London who laid the first stone of the new London Bridge.
The description of Nonesuch House says the building was constructed entirely of wood in Holland and brought over in pieces for assembly with wooden pegs. The account places Nonesuch House at the northern entrance of the Drawbridge, nearer the City than the building previously described by the speaker. The festivities described include a banquet given by the Lord Mayor at his own expense to the Corporation and his noble visitors at the Mansion House.
