Dance with the Devil

Kit Rocha is the writing duo behind the Beyond series, dystopian science fiction with strong romance elements set in a future where Eden is a walled city and the sectors outside it are run by a network of gangs. Dance with the Devil sits in that universe with the established ensemble cast.

The Beyond books are sex-positive in a deliberate way. The relationships are often polyamorous. The women in the stories are direct about what they want. The genre crosses traditional erotica with action thriller in a register that has its own clear audience.

The action sequences are well done. The world has real political stakes underneath the romance.
