About this book
Eleanor A. Ormerod is named as author of Eleanor Ormerod, LL. D., Economic Entomologist, subtitled Autobiography and Correspondence. The book is dedicated to all Miss Ormerod's correspondents in economic entomology. The preface says the idea that Miss Ormerod should write her biography originated with the present writer during one of many visits paid to her at St. Albans.
A first-person account says that in March the writer began studies by buying a first entomological book and chose beetles for the subject. The writer says one of the very largest beetles that could be found was carefully dissected and its parts matched to the details of the description given by Stephens. One writer hopes to utilise the reports of forest insects which have been sent up to date, in co-operation with Dr. R. Stewart MacDougall, the consulting Entomologist of the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland.
