About this book
Evolution, subtitled "An Investigation and a Critique", is by Theodore Graebner. The contents list names, among others, chapters called "An Outline of the Theory" and "The Testimony of the Rocks". A dedication reads "To the Memory of my teacher" and says "these chapters are dedicated by The Author".
One passage says that "in our own day the names of certain English and German scientists (Darwin, Spencer, Huxley, Tyndall, Romanes, Buechner, Vogt, Haeckel) are inseparably connected with a history of this hypothesis". The text says "In all the domain of natural science there are no wonders more amazing than those of instinct." A passage says "This conclusion of Mr. Wallace has, indeed, not found acceptance among scientists."
