Five Little Friends is a book by Sherred Willcox Adams, illustrated by Maud and Miska Petersham. The contents list two parts, The Five Little Friends at School and The Five Little Friends in Vacation. The story says Bob and Betty, Paul and Peggy and little Dot are five little friends who go to the same school. Miss West says each day one child may tell the other children about his pet.
Little Dot tells about her pet, a white cat named Snowball, and two little baby kittens named Fluff and Muff. Little Dot has the daisy with the longest stem and runs away as fast as her short legs can carry her, telling Mrs. White, We found Brown Betty in the woods, but her eggs have all turned into little turkeys. Fighting the wind and storm is hard work, but at last the boat reaches the island on which the lighthouse stands, and the keeper comes out and helps pull the boat to shore.
