The contents list gives, among others, a chapter headed Application of the Second Hypothesis to the Mosaic History of Creation, Conclusion. The contents summary lists the proposition that the Mosaic History of Creation stands alone, without Rivals or Competitors.

The text says nowhere does the Crust of the Earth exhibit a complete series of the Stratified Rocks laid out one above another. The text says that in any given section we can find but a few only of the long series of groups that are familiar to Geologists. The contents summary also lists the point that either the first Hypothesis or the second is sufficient to meet the demands of Geology as regards the Antiquity of the Earth.
