About this book

Poornima and Savitha live in Indravalli, a village near the Krishna River overlooked by a mountain temple. A story about a woman who raises trees as daughters leads into Poornima's childhood in Shobha Rao's novel. Family work, her father's demands and questions about her own name introduce the girl's place within her household.
