About this book
Homestead is a book by Arthur Gordon Burgoyne. The note from the publishers of Homestead says five per cent. of the net profits from the sale of the work are to be set apart as the nucleus of a fund for the erection of a monument in commemoration of the battle of July 6, 1892. The text says that Mr. Carnegie perceived the rich possibilities of a union between the steel and coke industries and in 1882 bought a half interest in the Frick Coke Company for $1,500,000.
The text says Mr. Frick is the son of a farmer and was born at West Overton, Pa., in 1850. The text says the press of Pittsburgh was unanimous in expressing sympathy for Mr. Frick. The text says that Berkman was taken to the county jail on Sunday night, there to await trial.
