Stephen Chbosky

Chbosky wrote The Perks of Being a Wallflower in his twenties, published in 1999, and it has drawn more American school challenges than almost any novel of its generation, for its handling of abuse, drugs and a gay teenager. He directed the film version himself in 2012, which few novelists get to do.
