About this book
Jonah and Co. is a book by Dornford Yates. The narrator calls it a fine highway, broad, direct and smooth beyond all expectation, lying like a clean-cut sash upon the countryside. The narrator and companions come to Montreuil, and the narrator says it was the headquarters of the British Expeditionary Force. Daphne says not to talk or she will make a mistake, and says what a blessing this Michelin Guide is.
A man-servant announces Mees Mansel, and Nobby enters, pleasedly lugging Jill into the room. Piers springs forward, catches Jill's hands in his, and asks whether she is not Miss Mansel, and Jill says steadily that she is. Roland is called a good sportsman who had been more than friendly throughout the season at Pau, and he was to ride two races at the meeting that afternoon.
