About this book
King Arthur's Socks and Other Village Plays is credited to Floyd Dell. A prefatory note says the plays were, with one exception, written in Greenwich Village and, with another exception, first performed there. The note adds that some of the plays were performed at the old Liberal Club and others by the Provincetown Players.
The contents list, among others, a very short morality play, a comedy, a romance and a tragic fantasy. In one scene, Madam Potiphar says Joseph is a scoundrel, and Potiphar asks what proof she has of his villainy. In another scene, a character called the Queen says she has a new appetite, the appetite for death.
