About this book

King Time, or the Mystical Land of the Hours, is called A Fantasy on its title page. P. K. Fitzhugh wrote it, L. J. Bridgman illustrated it, and it is dedicated To Lawrence. The contents run from Mr. Three O'Clock's Invitation and The Secret of the Passing Hours to The Dreadful News from Tickerleen, Father Time Gives His Opinion and The Mighty Duke Procrastinate.

In the sampled pages a little boy appears with an Imp in one passage and with Mr. Three O'Clock in another. A host tells a tale of the Wollerp, and a monument on the village green at Chymerline was put up by the road commissioners in the Wollerp's honour. In a hall full of Hour-Imps, the boy reads badges bearing famous dates, some marked B. C. A verse about a road winding through the Land of Tockerlore also appears.
