Lark & Kasim Start a Revolution
The contemporary young adult book “Lark & Kasim Start a Revolution” by Kacen Callender centers on the aspirational writer Lark Winters. When their erstwhile best buddy, Kasim, unintentionally professes his love for a secret crush on Lark on Twitter, Lark’s social media messages become the talk of the school.
Lark steps in to defend Kasim by feigning that the post was about a different student. They have to deal with living a lie and navigating the criticism of strangers on the Internet as Lark’s social media following soars. Lark has to learn how to be in love and accept their chaotic feelings in the middle of it all.
