About this book
Letters of Felix Mendelssohn to Ignaz and Charlotte Moscheles is a book translated from the originals in his possession and edited by Felix Moscheles. The book says that in 1824 Moscheles was engaged on a professional tour, giving concerts in the principal cities of Germany. A diary entry in the book says I am quite aware that I am sitting next to a master, not a pupil.
A letter dated Berlin, Nov. 18, 1824, says We much regretted not to see you at dinner to-day, and asks for the pleasure of your company at least next Sunday. One letter says the writer has worked a good deal lately and means to be still more industrious, and will send the recipient's wife a new book of Songs which is to appear in a few days.
