About this book
Lundy's Lane, and Other Poems is a collection of verse by Duncan Campbell Scott. A dedication names the author's daughter, Elizabeth Duncan Scott, and gives the years 1895-1907 beside her name. The contents list poems such as Spring on Mattagami, Night Burial in the Forest and Dream Voyageurs.
In one poem, a speaker finds Abner lying on the hill in the clover, with the blood on his dear, brave head. Some of the verse turns to a lake, where the roots of gleaming birches draw silver, and to a pine-tree column and tawny thrushes. A poem tells of Sakimay, who looks forth and sees the Blackfoot and the ghosts of the warriors.
