About this book

Mary-'Gusta is by Joseph Crosby Lincoln. The first chapter says that a majority of the grown people of Ostable were talking of Marcellus Hall and Mary-'Gusta. The text says Marcellus was to be buried that afternoon. In the text, Mary-'Gusta asks Mrs. Hobbs whether they have dolls up in Heaven.

The text says Crawford liked Mary Lathrop, who was a remarkably pretty girl. The text shows Captain Shadrach accompanying a departing friend to the door while Zoeth remained where he was, not rising even when he shook hands with the friend. Shadrach crossed the space between them in two strides and begged Zoeth: For the land sakes, what's the matter?
