About this book
Maxims and Counsels of St. Francis De Sales for Every Day of the Year is a collection of numbered sayings. The introduction speaks of the gentle Bishop of Geneva and says that love for souls is his great passion.
A saying numbered 12 holds that he who lives but for God is never sad, save at having offended God. A saying numbered 232 advises against turning your eyes on your infirmities and incapacity, except to humble yourself, and says never to let them discourage you. A saying numbered 389 says that our will can never die, but it sometimes passes beyond the limits of its ordinary life to live wholly in the divine will.
