About this book

The second volume of the memoirs of James Robert Hope-Scott of Abbotsford, with selections from his correspondence, is by Robert Ornsby. The contents for chapter XVIII, 1841, 1842, list, among others, Mr. Hope's pamphlet on the Jerusalem Bishopric and the continued correspondence of Mr. Hope and Mr. Newman on the Jerusalem Bishopric. One writer speaks of a visit to Addington last autumn, after which Harrison wrote him some long letters.

A footnote names the tract 'On Reserve,' by Isaac Williams. A letter signed Thomas Grant says the Italian nurses begin almost before children know how to use their eyes to make them notice prints or statues of our dear Mother and of the saints. One writer says that his memory holds an inner circle of those marked off from the comparative crowd, and that of the very few in it, some four or five he thinks only, the father of the person addressed was one.
