Ian Carr

Ian Carr was a British trumpeter, composer, bandleader, and jazz writer whose work moved between performance and criticism. Born in 1933, he played with Don Rendell in the Rendell-Carr Quintet before forming the jazz-rock group Nucleus in 1969. Nucleus won the European Broadcasting Union prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival and performed at Newport in 1970.
