Moorish Remains in Spain presents a brief record of the Arabian conquest of the peninsula and a particular account of Mohammedan architecture and decoration in Cordova, Seville and Toledo. The listed illustrations include a tower, courts, a chapel and palace galleries. The list of coloured plates names shell-like ornaments in the cupola of the Mihrab at Cordova.
The architectural discussion says the Almohades so thoroughly effaced and distorted their predecessors’ work that identifying original palace remains with certainty would be impossible. A geometrical instruction describes a starred dodecagon whose extended lines form the unequal limbs of a rosette and a cruciform figure within a square.
