The text says that like all men who hold commissions in the Terran Space Patrol, Maynard was used to trouble in the proper places and in the proper doses. Ben Williamson tells Jimmy there will be no reprimand and says he did hope to recover Guy's body.

Thomakein, the Ertinian, stops a recorder as the Terran ship reverses itself painfully and begins to decelerate for the trip back to home. A thought speaks of a development that will ultimately win for us, a thought-beam transmitter, and Maynard sits down suddenly, saying that he is mad and must be. A speaker says that a projector is a final weapon, one with which a single person alone in a tiny fighter can lay every living thing down on Terra.
