About this book
Patty's Social Season is by Carolyn Wells. The contents list chapters called Christmas Eve, The Christmas Spirit, Coasting, Hide and Seek, The Country Club Ball and Back to New York.
Patty insists that her stepmother should go for a little refreshment, saying she can hold the fort alone now. Mr. Galbraith, a Chicago man who had made his fortune suddenly, comes to spend the winter in New York so that Mona might be near Patty. A figure announces that he is the Lord of Misrule, come to direct the Christmas revels, and that to-night his word is law. Farnsworth says that unless the man he is speaking to consents to go away and never again enter the presence of these ladies, he will inform these policemen of a certain little bank trouble that happened in Chicago.
