Phineas Redux
Phineas Redux is the fourth of Anthony Trollope’s Palliser novels, published in 1874, and it brings the Irish politician Phineas Finn back to public life after retirement and personal loss. Drawn once more into the fierce world of Westminster, Phineas makes a bitter enemy, and when that enemy is murdered in a London street he finds himself arrested and put on trial for his life. The novel combines a tense courtroom drama with Trollope’s keen picture of party intrigue and the loyal women who stand by the accused man. About the Author
Anthony Trollope (1815-1882) was an English novelist of the Victorian era, celebrated for the Barsetshire and Palliser series, whose warm, realistic novels of society and character remain widely loved.
