Prehistoric Villages, Castles, and Towers of Southwestern Colorado is by Jesse Walter Fewkes. The contents list names, among others, Surouaro, Goodman Point Ruin, Johnson Ruin, and Bug Mesa Ruin. A letter of transmittal dated January 23, 1919 recommends publication, subject to approval, as Bulletin 70.
The text says none of the bowls, vases, dippers, or other ceramic objects from the region of the ruins described have that significant feature commonly called the life line. The text says that of the stone implements found in this region the most characteristic is the celt called tcamahia. The text says the central depressions, supposed to be kivas, almost always present in the middle of mounds in this district, show that the structure of Blanchard Ruin follows the pure type.
