About this book
Prudence Says So is by Ethel Hueston, author of Prudence of the Parsonage. The contents list chapters called The Chaperon, Science and Health, A Gift From Heaven and How Carol Spoiled the Wedding.
Chapter I, The Chaperon, opens with a call for girls to come down quick, because the speaker wants to see how they look. A speaker tells Connie that she is not slick enough for them, that they knew she had some funny place to hide her money, and that Lark sneaked around and watched and saw where she put it. Carol, standing thoughtfully beside the table, says she will let the tuck out of her old rose dress because the professor still has the little twinnie idea in his brain, and she is going to get it out. A speaker asks Carol whether there is any chance for him, and Carol demands of Jim Forrest whether it is Lark he wants to marry, or her.
