Recollections of the Private Life of Napoleon, Complete, is by Louis Constant Wairy, first valet de chambre, translated by Walter Clark. The title page is dated 1895, and the contents begin with Volume I and a long run of chapters.
One passage describes the First Consul driving in state to the Tuileries with his two colleagues in a carriage drawn by six white horses. It names Lannes and Murat among the officers who rode with him, and the narrator then speaks of himself. Another passage says the Empress answered a fault among her ladies with silence lasting a day or several, and that Madame Bonaparte received furniture, curiosities and pictures as presents. A later passage has all the marshals being summoned, with Marshal Davoust looking abstracted.
