About this book

Rest Harrow carries the subtitle A Comedy of Resolution. The contents are arranged in books, including Sanchia at Wanless Hall, Interlude of the Recluse Philosopher and Sanchia in London. One book in the contents is headed Of the Nature of an Epilogue, Dealing with Despoina, and another Of the Nature of a Prologue, Dealing with a Bruised Philosopher in Retirement.

Senhouse walks up Saint James's Street at six o'clock in the morning, talking lightly and fiercely to himself. Senhouse says he has lived in the place for three years or more, but has lived so for over twenty and has wandered for most of that time, knowing England from end to end. Chevenix whispers, "He's giving 'em church, to-day being Sunday," while Sanchia, breathless, says, "Hush! hush!"
