Retrospection and Introspection is a book by Mary Baker Eddy. The contents list includes, among others, Voices Not Our Own, Marriage and Parentage and The Great Discovery. The wife of Mark Baker was Abigail Barnard Ambrose, daughter of Deacon Nathaniel Ambrose of Pembroke. The narrator was born in the Baker homestead at Bow, the youngest of six children.
The narrator says, "I was led to name three hundred dollars as the price for each pupil in one course of lessons at my College." A unanimous vote is recorded that, as all debts of the corporation have been paid, it is deemed best to dissolve this corporation. St. John is mentioned as having addressed one of his epistles to the elect lady.
