About this book
Ruth Fielding at Lighthouse Point carries the alternative title Nita, the Girl Castaway and names Alice B. Emerson as its author. Ruth Fielding comes from Darrowtown after her parents' death to live with her mother's uncle at the Red Mill on the Lumano River near Cheslow.
Phineas steers a launch that travels ten miles at a pace delighting the whole party. Tom Cameron says he intends to coax his father into buying a launch for use on the Lumano. Nita, described as a runaway, asks whether the father gives everything requested and complains that she could not even have a piano. Helen calls goodbye to the ocean, and Ruth throws a kiss to the waves before the ocean fades from sight.
