About this book

A bad day at the lab gets worse for Allen Lancaster, a sector chief on a scientific Project, when the Efficiency inspector drops in and a cleared report from Security makes six months of his division's work pointless. He lives in a society where the Control agency rules daily life and derated lab staff get sent to Venus. Poul Anderson's science fiction story, illustrated by Ebel, plays on the idea that in a world obsessed with Security nothing is secure; a mountain-climbing holiday may end in deep Space.
