About this book
This is William Shakespeare's First Folio, set in the spelling of the early printed text. A note at the front shows the first lines of Hamlet as printed, "Barnardo. Who's there? Fran. Nay answer me: Stand & vnfold your selfe," and explains that u and v are exchanged in places, which is why some words look odd.
In one passage outlaws offer a banished man, marked Val., the place of captain, saying some of them are gentlemen driven from company. In another, speakers marked Sicin. and Bru. talk with an aedile about a list of voices gathered by tribes and the cries the people are to raise for each sentence. Elsewhere a speaker marked Por. says that the lottery of her destiny bars her from choosing for herself.
