About this book
Teutonic Mythology concerns gods and goddesses of the Northland, and the title matter identifies an authorised translation from the Swedish. The account of dawn describes Delling's subterranean dwelling and treats dawn as merely a reflection of Midgard's eastern horizon from that dwelling. The account allows dawn to be seen only when Nat leaves the upper heaven and before Dag and Sol have come forward.
The discussion of the sunset-glow gives that phenomenon another genius, Billing, and identifies him as a creation of Modsogner if the dwarf-list is correct. The account names Billing as chief of the Varns and gives him western halls as his dwelling.
